Hi. I'm Lauren Layne. I write romantic fiction. Which is a fussy way of all my novels end with happily-ever-after. If you don't like books featuring romantic relationships, no, I don't want to hear your out-of-date Fabio joke.

I'm married to my high school sweetheart. We met in Tacoma, but now we live in New York City with our elderly yet feisty Pomeranian. I used to love going out for cocktails in high heels, but then 2020 happened, so now I mostly rock a lot of Lunya* on the couch while looking up trivia about the cast of The Big Bang Theory.

I write contemporary fiction, but I generally read Regency romance and nonfiction. If a book has duke in the title, I probably own it.If there's a nonfiction release about digital rights or Stoicism, I probably own those too.

I love my husband, but I love Michael Bublé almost as much. I also listen to a lot of Taylor Swift. My favorite Beyoncé song is "Love on Top," and I don't know how to do the Single Ladies dance, and I tried really hard.

My favorite color is no color. I like olives and popcorn a lot; not together, but now that I'm thinking about it...maybe? I'm pretty handy at a Harry Potter or Star Wars trivia night, but don't try to bring me into the Game of Thrones fold. I'm not into it.

I think there are few things more beautiful than a serif font on a white page, which is why this website is so gloriously basic

I'm not on social media anymore, which seems to freak people out. But there's no spicy, interesting reason. I'm just busy doing other stuff that I enjoy more. See above about The Big Bang Theory and dukes.
